Interiors
This selection of paintings, dating from 1999-2002, explore interior spaces as a metaphor for states of mind, thoughts, meditations, and emotions. For me, these spaces are “charged,” and resonate with a sense of psychological weight. As intimate, personal spaces, they reveal the discarded residue of life lived, and these spaces and objects act as proxies for larger issues and questions. While some pieces seem devoid of people, they still suggest a presence, even if only as a fleeting trace, fragment, or remnant.
